Unleash the Fun with Our Furry Friends
Get to know us
At Summerfield Kennels, we specialise in thoughtfully planned Saint Berdoodles and Groodles bred for exceptional temperament, sound health, and beautiful structure. Each litter is carefully considered, with a strong focus on health testing and pairing dogs that complement one another in both personality and quality.
Our puppies are not raised in kennels - they are raised in our home, surrounded by family life, everyday sounds, and plenty of socialisation. From their very first days, they are nurtured with care to develop into confident, gentle, and well-adjusted companions.
We believe a well-bred puppy becomes a once-in-a lifetime family member. Our goal is simple: to raise remarkable Oodles who will bring loyalty, warmth, and joy to their forever homes.
At Summerfield Kennels, we proudly raise Saint Berdoodles in our family home. Our dogs are part of our everyday life — surrounded by children, routine, love, and real home experiences from the very beginning.
We specialise in both Standard and Mini Saint Berdoodles, carefully bred for temperament, health, and beautiful balanced structure.
-
A Saint Berdoodle is a cross between a Saint Bernard and a Poodle (Standard or Miniature).
This pairing brings together:
The gentle, loyal, nurturing nature of the Saint Bernard
The intelligence, trainability, and lower-shedding coat of the Poodle
The result is a devoted family companion with a soft, teddy-bear appearance and a calm, affectionate personality.
-
Our Saint Berdoodles are known for being:
Exceptionally gentle with children
Loyal and deeply bonded to their families
Intelligent and eager to please
Calm indoors but playful when invited
Naturally watchful without being aggressive
They thrive in family environments and love being included in daily life — from school pick-ups to weekend adventures.
-
Because we breed both sizes, families can choose the best fit for their home and lifestyle.
Standard Saint Berdoodle
Height: approximately 55–75 cm
Weight: approximately 30–65 kg
A stunning, large companion with a calm and impressive presence.
Mini Saint Berdoodle
Height: approximately 40–55 cm
Weight: approximately 18–30 kg
A more compact option while still maintaining the beautiful Saint Berdoodle look and temperament.
-
One of the most loved features of the Saint Berdoodle is the coat.
Thanks to the Poodle influence, many of our puppies have:
Wavy to curly coats
Moderate to low shedding
Softer facial furnishings
Noticeably reduced drooling compared to a pure Saint Bernard
Coat types can vary slightly from puppy to puppy, but our goal is always a manageable, family-friendly coat.
Regular brushing and grooming every 6–8 weeks keeps them looking their best.
At Summerfield Kennels, our Groodles are raised right alongside our Saint Berdoodles — in our family home, around children, everyday noise, and real-life routines.
We focus on temperament first, followed closely by structure, coat quality, and health. Our goal is to raise confident, affectionate companions that transition smoothly into family life.
We breed both Standard and Mini Groodles, offering options to suit different home sizes and lifestyles.
-
A Groodle (also known internationally as a Goldendoodle) is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle (Standard or Miniature).
This pairing combines:
The friendly, gentle nature of the Golden Retriever
The intelligence and lower-shedding coat traits of the Poodle
The result is an affectionate, people-focused dog with a soft, teddy-bear appearance and a beautifully balanced temperament.
-
Groodles are known for being:
Exceptionally friendly
Wonderful with children
Social and outgoing
Highly intelligent and trainable
Loyal and eager to be involved in family life
They tend to be slightly more playful and energetic than a Saint Berdoodle, while still settling beautifully indoors when exercised appropriately.
-
Because we offer both sizes, families can choose the best fit for their home.
Standard Groodle
Height: approximately 50–65 cm
Weight: approximately 22–35 kg
Athletic, balanced dogs that suit active families.
Mini Groodle
Height: approximately 35–50 cm
Weight: approximately 12–20 kg
A smaller companion ideal for more compact living while still maintaining the Groodle personality.
-
Groodles are popular for their coat qualities. Depending on generation and genetics, they may have:
Wavy or curly coats
Moderate to low shedding
Soft, fluffy texture
Lower odour compared to some heavier-coated breeds
While no dog is completely non-shedding, many Groodles are a good fit for families wanting reduced hair around the home.
Regular brushing and professional grooming every 6–8 weeks is recommended.
-
Groodles thrive in homes that provide:
Daily walks
Playtime and interaction
Mental stimulation through training
Inclusion in everyday family activities
They love being part of the action — school runs, beach trips, sports sidelines, or relaxed evenings at home.
